For media

Ground rules for the media

Access restrictions

For security reasons, access to the conference room is restricted to conference participants only. This restriction also applies to media accredited to the Press Centre. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Reporting rules

All presentations, papers and discussions that take place as part of the official programme of the ECB Forum are on the record. However, conversations with Forum participants on the margins of the conference should be considered strictly off the record unless otherwise agreed bilaterally.

The conference is webcast live on the homepage of the ECB Forum website and streamed to the Press Centre. Retransmission of any kind is not permitted.

Interviews and bilateral conversations

For television/video interviews with conference participants, two outside interview tents and an interview corner in the Press Centre will be available for use on a first come, first served basis. Please register any vehicles needed for transporting equipment/transmission with the ECB Forum’s media team in advance.

The ECB Forum’s media team will be happy to assist with logistical arrangements as needed and to the extent possible. Interviews with non-ECB participants should be agreed directly with them.

 [email protected]

The Press Centre and the hotel lobby area are open for all media representatives for arranged bilateral talks. Other areas of the hotel may be used for private conversations among participants. Please respect their right to privacy.

“Door-stepping” is restricted to the area in front of the Press Centre, and we encourage the media to exercise restraint and to respect the fact that some participants may not wish to deliver any statements.

Photos and television

The access restrictions also apply to photographers and television teams. Footage and pictures will be made available for downloading from the ECB website.
